Just an Opinion

All of us have some point in our life feel at our lowest. When the world seems to go against your plans and that you are running in a loop with no progress in sight, the feeling is overwhelming. “I have done all I can but nothing seem to work”. But how do you know that it’s not working? Sometimes our judgment is bias and that we seem to focus more on the negative side. Instead of finding faults in our inadequacies, look at the accomplishments you have made. This may be as simple as finishing daily work, task at school, office or home. Making time to do your assignments at the library, for example, is already an accomplishment. You have sacrificed a good deal of effort to finish a valuable report. So don’t be too harsh on yourself, celebrate instead.

In our daily experiences, dark side and evil persist. With the constant negative news aired in the media, no one can deny this fact. Celebrity shows are even worse in depicting scenes which are deemed inappropriate for society. People watching such shows may get the negative impression that these are normal occurrences and may apply them in real life. Negative news feed, mostly non-sense and useless, are also posted in social sites which makes us more vulnerable to seeing bad news spread like wildfire. The negative impact it brings to our mental health is profound so as to cause a feeling of overwhelming fear and envy, at least in part.

To avoid ill consequences as a result of constant negative feedback entering my system, I have totally avoided watching television. I also have limited my time spent on facebook and other social networking sites. I want to live very simply. I need silence from the too many voices and messages media is bombarding us. I want to clear my mind and empty it with renewed spirit and vigor. I read great novels and books instead. I allotted more time to connect and socialize personally instead. For I want a change in my micro-self, a little change with a long-lasting impact!
