University Mass Lesson: It's OK to struggle!

Today is a wonderful opportunity to attend a mass ceremony presided by the reverend University Priest. The  timing is perfect. As preliminary examinations are already fast approaching, students start to meet so many deadlines for projects, assignments, home works and other requirements. Sleepless nights to review for quizzes and chapter tests is expected. After all, it's a part of student life.

Often times students grapple with managing time efficiently while maintaining their sanity from the copious demands of work load. Not to mention financial requirements as payment of tuition and expenses for daily living including allowances for food, transportation and the like. Once a student, the university priest knows the hardship and challenges of attending college. "It is not an easy life; too many times your stamina is tested from various dilemmas", was one of his point. He further went on to elaborate that we are sheep being sent on among wolves. The wolves being the challenges and difficulties we encounter on a daily basis and the sheep being our selves. If we are to survive on  a competitive planet filled with constant struggle, our inner strength should be more powerful and stronger than  a pack of wolves always looking out to bite us.

The struggles and pain we encounter are only temporary. After fighting off and finishing the race, we emerge as new person. Our old self totally changes to become a more mature, caring and stronger individual. Someone who has not been exposed to real life challenges will never attain maturity and will remained spoiled for the rest of his/her life. He/she shall depend on somebody else to live and survive in this competitive, harsh World. The demands of student life are there to mold someone to bring out the best in him/her. That is the goal of the University to produce a competent, socially-involved, responsible professional who can contribute productively to his community.

Go out and start making mistakes, it's OK to struggle. I did fight and still fighting. All of us do. Just keep hanging!
