Living Life One Step at a Time
Where there times when you feel like you're not accomplishing something important? As if all the things that you are doing doesn't worked out as plan. Sometimes you wish to become triplet so that you can hit three stones at the same time in different places. But you are also aware that it's just not possible and crazy as it may sound, you are secretly hoping that Science will find a way to triplicate ourselves.
In a time when 24-hours is simply not enough, having a clear focus is important. Prioritizing the most significant and urgent things in life is a great skill that must be embedded in our self. Saying NO to the useless, time-consuming activities that are sometimes draining is good for yourself. When the pressure to achieve more to be the best in class, in work, in sports and in so many other areas is pressing, living one life at a time is truly a rewarding choice.
So how are we going to accomplish this. I am suggesting you to use the following strategies:
1. Prioritize. Learn to weigh in the urgency and significance of any activity that you are dealing with. Avoid postponing the important ones to avoid piling up of workloads.
2. Organizing and Cleaning. Yes, the more organized and clean your room, work table, closet, etc the more focus you become. Start eliminating the unnecessary materials which you may deem un-useful. Throw them out or sell them or better yet donate them to charitable causes.
3. Setting Regular Goals. It doesn't matter if you do it daily, monthly or yearly. The most important thing is that you have set some standards and a blueprint of map to follow. This will help you stay on track in reaching what you really desire. Evaluate your goals, re-examine them and revise them if there is a need.
4. Embracing Failure. There will be times when your best effort turns an epic fail. When you become loser, when self-doubt begin to consume you and everything seems grim. It's a fact-of-life. These are unavoidable circumstances. Changing your mindset and being flexible is just as needed to conquer life's downturns. Learn from every mistake and failure. You don't have to be perfect, just learn and move on.
5. Being Grateful. Say thank you for the little to big things that you have accomplished. The rewards and honor achievements received. For the meals you had, for breathing and heart beating. You don't have to possess everything in the World. Just by being thankful you are already setting an optimistic mindset. You need all the positive energy in the World to keep you active!
