Tips for Depressed, Down People

At some point in our life, we have felt alone. There are times when all we want to do is Give up, Quit the fight and Stay quiet. But would that be too selfish? It surely is. Instead of wallowing in deep self-pity and feeling down and depress, there's much you can do. Here are some tips to do:

1. Pursue your Passion. Revisit what it is that you want in life. Teach the kids, educate young minds, do artistic craft, dance, sing and laugh. Whatever it is that make you happy, find time to do it. It doesn't matter that you are far from perfect execution, for as long as you love doing it. 

2. Surround yourself with Positive people. You may have been driving away good and close friends from your circle. You fought with your parents or family members. Go back to their arms, you certainly need a hug from family and friends. If they are your real family and friends, they would be willing to understand your pain and circumstances. Nothing is more comforting than being with the people you love. Comfort goes a long way.

3. Volunteer. Helping other less unfortunate and needy people is good for your health. Simple acts of kindness like giving gifts during holidays, visiting the sick and volunteering can positively impact your mood. You may also donate cash, food, belongings or other things worth sharing. The spirit of kindness should fill your heart.

4. Pray to someone Higher or something Bigger. You may not believe in a Supreme Being but it helps to believe in something "Divine". It makes you feel more surrounded and less alone. Praying, meditating and the like offers the same effect as taking drugs one study concludes. So believe more often.

5. Go out, take some risks and have fun. Life is not suppose to be perfect. Most of the time, we do not get what we want or things go roughly wayward. But that is life, it's just it is. Learn to accept things we can't change but also try changing the things we can. Sounds confusing. At some point do things outside your comfort zone. Sing loudly in public, dance crazy with the crowd, or visit a place you have never been to, etc. Just try doing different things to get out of boredom. Just have fun.
